Located in the heart of Northwest Arkansas, visitors will find a cultural and beautiful oasis in the form of Springdale. The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History is located on a lovely tree shaded block and offers an intimate look at the traditional way of life in the Ozarks. Visitors can browse among literally thousands of photographs and artifacts which celebrate the rich and vibrant history of the Ozarks. In addition to the exhibits which are housed in the museum center, visitors may also explore a museum store and research library as well as several 19th century buildings.
The Arkansas and Missouri Railroad offers an additional look into the history of the area as well as the opportunity to travel in the elegance of a refurbished antique passenger train that represents the style of an era long ago. Gaze out your windows as miles and miles of scenic mountain scenery pass by during your journey.
If you are in the mood to experience some culture while in the area, a visit to the Arts Center of the Ozarks would certain be in order. Musical, dance and theatre programs are offered at the Arts Center in addition to numerous visual arts displays.
In the event you are in the area during the Fourth of July weekend, make sure you do not miss the Rodeo of the Ozarks, one of the largest events in the state, drawing in hundreds of participants.
