Fayetteville-Hub of Northwest Arkansas

Fayetteville has been considered the hub of the Northwest Arkansas region for a number of years. The University of Arkansas with its famed Razorbacks team is located in Fayetteville along with a variety of other attractions and sights.

As you explore the city of Fayetteville in Northwest Arkansas you will quickly discover a lively music scene as well as numerous shopping and dining options. In addition, there are numerous museums and historic sights to discover and explore.

The Ozark Military Museum is one such museum which is certainly worth spending a few hours browsing. A vast array of aircraft and military vehicles are on display in the museum. In addition, the Arkansas Air Museum at Drake Field offers a variety of old airplanes ranging from some of the famous planes of the 1920s to one of the first airliners. Visitors are often surprised to discover that quite a few of the airplanes in the museum still fly despite their age.

Visitors can also explore areas which were once battlefield sights during the Civil War. Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park served as one of the major battles of the Civil War and is located just a few minutes from downtown Fayetteville. The battle, which occurred on December 7, 1862, is depicted in the park.

The Walton Arts Center offers a variety of different entertainment and arts venues including Broadway shows and exhibits which are worthy of any museum.

A variety of live music can be discovered on Dickson Street in downtown Fayetteville along with a wide array of restaurants, galleries, clubs and shops.

Of course, if you are looking for outdoor recreation, you can find that as well at Lake Fayetteville, where there are areas for hiking, fishing and boating as well as beautiful picnic sights. Visitors also have nearby access to the various campgrounds, where the majesty of the Ozark Mountains awaits in all their grandeur.
