Fayetteville has been considered the hub of the Northwest Arkansas region for a number of years. The University of Arkansas with its famed Razorbacks team is located in Fayetteville along with a variety of other attractions and sights.
As you explore the city of Fayetteville in Northwest Arkansas you will quickly discover a lively music scene as well as numerous shopping and dining options. In addition, there are numerous museums and historic sights to discover and explore.
The Ozark Military Museum is one such museum which is certainly worth spending a few hours browsing. A vast array of aircraft and military vehicles are on display in the museum. In addition, the Arkansas Air Museum at Drake Field offers a variety of old airplanes ranging from some of the famous planes of the 1920s to one of the first airliners. Visitors can also explore areas which were once battlefield sights during the Civil War. Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park served as one of the major battles of the Civil War and is located just a few minutes from downtown Fayetteville. The battle, which occurred on December 7, 1862, is depicted in the park.
