The White River tailwaters come off of the bottom of Beaver Lake, so they are chilly! It's the perfect environment for trout. The smaller ones bite when the water is normal. When the level rises due to power generation, the monster browns and rainbows start feeding!

Northwest Arkansas Information - White River

The White River is actually the source for many of Arkansas's lakes. Its headwaters feed Beaver Lake, and its tailwaters provide fast-paced fishing for rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. The cold waters also hold largemouth and smallmouth bass, stripers, hybrids, and the ubiquitous spoonbill.

White River Facts

• The river's flow is interrupted by at least eight dams, six in Arkansas and two in Missouri.
• Abundant wildlife - herons, foxes, wild turkey, eagles, deer, beaver, mink and kingfishers abound along the shores of this beautiful stream.
• The Beaver Lake tailwaters are 13 miles in length from below Beaver Dam to Beaver Town. The river is subject to changes in current and water level when Beaver Dam is generating.
